Weddings

The harp is a popular form of entertainment for weddings due to its versatility and striking beauty. I have been performing at weddings for over fifteen years and have never seen two weddings the same. I have played at everything from a simple church ceremony with 30 guests to an elaborate and extravagant Greek wedding reception with over 500 guests! I have also played at many civil ceremonies, same sex ceremonies, and receptions in barns, school halls, marquees, restaurants, leisure centres, living rooms and the open air.

The music you choose for your special day should be personal to yourselves and your guests and also appropriate to the mood you wish to create. Many people favour the delicate sounds of the harp for their wedding breakfast as it is relaxing and unobtrusive. It provides a beautiful, ambience to the event while being gentle enough to allow your guests to talk and enjoy their meal. It is an ideal accompaniment to a civil wedding ceremony as the music can be tailored exactly to your requirements. Often there is no organ available for civil ceremonies and the harp creates a stunning atmosphere in which to exchange your vows. However it can also be the perfect complement to a religious ceremony. Although the organ is traditional in this situation the harp provides an unusual alternative and a great talking point later in the day.
